Gold Medal Virginia Red Wines Twenty Years in the Making

Do you love a good glass of wine after dinner?  Are you searching for some new Virginia red wines to try, or to add to your collection?  If so, we’d like to present our collection of reds for your consideration.  As one of the few family-owned and operated wineries in the great state of Virginia, we take great pride in the fact that Blue Valley has won Many Awards since we opened the vineyard, some twenty years ago.

Here are a few of our offerings:

2016 Sangiovese

This medium-bodied red was a gold medal winner at the Finger Lakes International Wine Competition and won the Best Red in the Fauquier Wine Competition.  It’s fresh and fruity with notes of plum, black cherry, raspberries, and violet, and has a slight earthy aftertaste.  Not to be missed.

2016 Traditional Red Blend

Our 2016 Traditional Red Blend is 85% Merlot, and 15% Estate Cabernet Franc.  It was a silver medal winner in the INDY International Wine Competition and features a bold red and black cheery flavor with complementary notes of smooth oak and black pepper.

2015 Celebration Red Blend

2015 was a great year indeed, and our Celebration Red provides the proof.  This blend is 60.1% Merlot, 35% Cab Franc, and 4.9% Petit Verdot.  It earned a gold medal from the American Wine Society and a silver from the New York Wine and Spirits Competition.  It’s a bright ruby red with crisp acidity and features black and red berries, with complimentary notes of violet and plum.  One of our most popular Virginia red wines.

2015 Remembrance

Made with estate-grown Chambourcin and combined with Vidal Blanc, this unique blend opens with flavors of raspberry, blueberry and a hint of oak.

While the descriptions above are certainly helpful, the very best way to experience our Virginia red wines is to come spend the day with us and enjoy a wine tasting.  We’re open most holidays, but please note that we are closed on Christmas and New Years day.

If you’d like to add musical accompaniment to your wine tasting, you should know that we regularly host local musicians who perform on the property, so be sure to check our event calendar before planning your trip.  If you have any questions before coming to spend the day with us, feel free to give us a call.
