Haven’t heard of Blue Valley? Not to worry, we’ll give you a little preview of what awaits you when you come out to see us. Nestled in the Blue Ridge Mountains, we’re one of only a handful of family owned wineries in Northern VA and our winery offers a unique setting that you and your friends won’t soon forget.
We built our winery more than two decades ago when we purchased a portion of a larger estate that was once owned by John Marshall, who served as the Fourth Chief Justice of the US Supreme Court, which gives Blue Valley a historical significance that other wineries in Northern VA can’t match, in addition to the incredible vistas the area has to offer.
Of course, our winery in Northern VA is more than just pretty scenery; what matters most are the wines themselves and ours have won more than twenty-four thousand awards and counting. Here’s a quick overview of some of the fantastic wines you’ll have an opportunity to sample when you come spend the day with us:
2015 Remembrance
This wonderful vintage is made from a blend of estate grown Chambourcin (75%) combined with Vidal Blanc (25%) with 2.4% residual sugar. It features opening flavors of blueberry, raspberry and a hint of oak. If served chilled, it will enhance the acidity and bring out hints of citrus and crab apple flavors.

2016 Tradition Red Blend

This is a blend comprised of 85% Merlot and 15% Estate Cabernet Franc. It features flavors of red and black cherry with notes of smooth oak and black pepper. The contrast is delightful and is sure to please.

This is a bright, vibrant wine of medium intensity with the taste and fragrance of honeysuckle and rose petals and a mango finish.
2015 Celebration Red Blend

Our 2015 Celebration Red is a blend of 60.1% Merlot, 35% Cab Franc, and 4.9% Petit Verdot. It is a very bright ruby red with crisp acidity. It’s medium bodied with a tannin structure, featuring flavors of plumb, violet and both red and black berries.

A delightful blend composed of 67% Chardonnay, 22% Sauvignon Blanc, 6% Pinot Gris, and 5% Viognier, it will please your palate with its variety of citrus and orchard fruit flavors.

This Chardonnay is wonderfully balanced and has been aged in stainless-steel and new French oak. It presents nuances of green pear and green apple and will delight your palate.

With aromas of wet bluestone, red cherry and pomegranate and a candied fruit flavor, this rose is simply unforgettable.

Our venue spaces range from the small, intimate and rustic, to the modern and expansive, so whatever your tastes and preferences are and whatever type of event you’re planning, we’ve got something that’s perfect for you. Blue Valley is one of the best wineries in Northern VA, and will provide a perfect setting for your big event. Here’s a quick overview of the spaces we have available:
- The Heritage Room (Capacity: 60) – A beautifully appointed room with an understated aesthetic that’s perfect for medium-sized gatherings.
- The Traditions Room (Capacity: 80) – Slightly larger than the Heritage, the Traditions room is delightfully appointed and features terrace access that allows your guests outdoor access, weather permitting.
- The Barrel Room (Capacity: 120) – One of two rustic venues, this space offers unforgettable ambience your guests are sure to love.
- The Cave (Capacity: 40) – Our smallest, most intimate and most rustic space. While it’s only capable of accommodating up to 40 guests, it offers a magical aesthetic that transports you and your guests to another time and place. Some of our most memorable gatherings have been hosted here.
- The Loft (Capacity: 120) – This space overlooks our Celebrations Room and is often booked in conjunction with the Celebrations Room for particularly large events.
- The Celebrations Room (Capacity: 200+) – Our largest space and our main wine tasting room when not booked for other purposes.
- And the Bridal Suite, for brides to be who want a winery wedding and need a place to escape and unwind before the big event!

Peak Season – April through November
- Friday through Sunday: 11:00 AM to 7:00 PM.
Off-Season – December through March
- Monday through Thursday: 11:00 AM to 5:00 PM
- Friday through Sunday: 11:00 AM to 6:00 PM.
