Nestled in the Blue Ridge Mountains, we built our winery on a portion of the estate of the fourth Chief Justice of the Supreme Court, John Marshall. We purchased the parcel more than two decades ago, and since then, have grown to become one of the best and most respected wineries in the region and are one of only a handful of family-run wineries in the state.
With the serene views offered by the winery itself, set against the backdrop of the mountains, Blue Valley is a one of a kind Northern Virginia outdoor wedding venue that will add magic and wonder to your special day.
Of course, a stunning backdrop alone isn’t enough. The perfect wedding venue will also offer state of the art facilities and have enough room to accommodate all your guests, no matter how big your wedding party might be.
We’ve got you covered on that front as well because we’ve carefully developed a whole array of event spaces that can be used for a variety of purposes and since the winery opened, we’ve hosted scores of weddings – we’d love to play a role in your special day!
Here’s a quick overview of the spaces we have available:
The Heritage Room
This space has a maximum capacity of sixty guests, so it’s a great option for smaller to medium-sized gatherings and has a good mix of features. On one side of the room, your attendees will be treated to a picture-perfect view of the winery itself, and depending on the day, you may even catch sight of a few of our farm animals. The windows on the other side of the room offer a spectacular view of the Blue Ridge Mountains.
Skylights provide natural lighting that gives the space a warm, natural glow, augmented by expertly placed, beautiful chandeliers, with the room’s capstone feature being the cozy stone fireplace. On top of that, this space offers direct access to our Sunset Terrace, which gives you the option of moving the party back outside if and as the mood strikes. This is a superb venue option provided your wedding party isn’t excessively large.
Traditions
With enough space to accommodate up to eighty guests, the Traditions room offers direct access to our spacious veranda, making it an ideal choice for medium-sized receptions, especially if you want to move in and outdoors freely.
The large windows offer a beautiful view of the winery itself that is sure to enchant and delight your guests.
The Celebration Room
This massive space serves as our main wine tasting room on most days, but with the capacity to accommodate more than two hundred people, it’s an ideal choice for even the largest weddings and receptions.
The room is bedecked with bistro lights, features high ceilings with exposed wooden beams, a large fireplace, and not one, but two different bars that were hand-crafted from 200-year-old oaks harvested right from the estate grounds.
On top of that, the room offers a trio of large flat-screen TVs in case you want to use them to show memorable videos of how you met your intended. It’s the perfect complement to our spectacular Northern Virginia outdoor wedding venue.
The Loft
The Loft overlooks the Celebration room, and in cases of extremely large receptions, can be rented in addition to the Celebration Room, giving you the ability to accommodate an additional 120 people. The opposite side of the room offers a stunning view of the Blue Ridge Mountains that’s sure to draw the eye of anyone occupying the space, and for those who don’t want to admire the natural beauty, there’s a gorgeous marble fireplace to congregate near.
The Cave
If you’re looking for an indoor venue for your reception and you’re planning on having a small, intimate gathering, then the Cave belongs on your shortlist of options to consider. While it only has enough space to accommodate a maximum of 40 people, it provides a dramatic and unforgettable setting that will leave you feeling as though you’ve been transported to another age.
That said, this option isn’t for everyone, but if you’re planning on having a themed wedding, then the Cave might mesh perfectly with your vision. It’s decorated with a mix of candle-draped chandeliers, wine barrels and farm tables and over the years, has been featured in scores of memorable wedding photos. It could serve as the backdrop for some of your wedding photos too. This is, hands down, our most unique space, and a perfect complement to our Northern Virginia outdoor wedding venue.
The Barrel Room
This is another delightfully rustic option that’s well worth considering. The room is large enough to accommodate up to 120 guests, and it really does look like something right out of a storybook. Filled with rows and rows of American and French barrels that hold gracefully aging wines, this room offers a wonderful, fantasy-like Old World ambiance that must be experienced to be fully appreciated.
The Bridal Suite
Planning the perfect wedding is a nerve-wracking, chaotic affair. For brides, it seems like there are a million different details to attend to. Everyone needs your final approval on something and they all seem to need it right now. It’s enough to send even the most even-tempered, laid-back person alive into a full-blown panic.
That’s why, in addition to offering a wide range of venue spaces, paired with delightful food and wine options, we also offer a deluxe bridal suite, which makes an excellent addition to any venue you decide is perfect for you.
This suite gives you, as the bride, a wonderful hideaway to escape to whenever you need to withdraw for a bit and enjoy a glass of wine or champagne while looking out over the mountains. Tastefully and comfortably appointed, you’ll find everything you need to help you relax in this space and it’s close enough to the center of the action that when you’re ready to plunge back into the fray, you’re only moments away from being able to do so.
