Blue Valley is a bit off the beaten track, while still being close enough that getting to our lovely winery isn’t a daunting journey. We’re nestled in the Blue Ridge Mountains and our winery has been a labor of love for more than two decades.
Even better, we created our winery when we purchased a portion of a larger estate that once belonged to John Marshall, who served as the fourth Chief Justice to the US Supreme Court, a fact which gives the very ground the winery exists on a historical significance that no mere hotel convention center can match.
The grounds offer endless avenues of exploration and make for a picturesque setting that’s quite different from the experience you get hosting your event at a hotel banquet hall, but of course, a picturesque setting is only part of the story. The winery event space near Washington, DC itself has to be up to the task, which is why we’ve carefully cultivated a number of venue spaces that offer a perfect compliment to the natural beauty of the grounds.
The rooms we offer range in size from the intimate to the expansive, and from the rustic to the modern and elegant so there’s something for every taste, preference and budget. Here’s a quick overview of the spaces we have available.
The Traditions Room
Capacity: 80 guests
The Traditions Room is an excellent option for medium sized gatherings. Spacious enough to accommodate up to 80 guests, it features a large number of windows that give the space a bright, airy feel, and it offers direct access to our spacious veranda, which gives it a great indoor/outdoor feel that provides unforgettable views of the Blue Ridge Mountains from the veranda side, while offering a lovely view of our vineyard from the opposite side. A lovely room decorated in an understated traditional style.
The Heritage Room
Capacity: 60 guests
If the Traditions room is too big for the event you have in mind, then the slightly smaller Heritage Room might be an ideal choice. The room features an absolutely stunning stone fireplace, beautiful chandeliers and skylights to give it an airy feel. The windows on one side offer an unforgettable view of the Blue Ridge Mountains while the other offers a view of the vineyard itself.
Even better, this space has direct access to our Sunset Terrace so your guests can move the festivities outdoors if they’d like to and the weather permits. A wonderful, cozier space that provides a nice contrast to some of our more expansive rooms.
The Celebrations Room
Capacity: 200+ guests
This is the largest venue space we offer. Open and elegant, it is the ideal choice for the very largest parties. Among other things, it boasts not one but two bars, both made from 200-year old oaks harvested right on the property!
The room is filled with expansive glass windows that offer an unforgettable view of the mountains, and the space sports not one, but three large flat screen TVs that will allow you to incorporate A/V elements into your party if you wish to do so.
In addition to that, you’ll find a cozy fireplace, fun Bistro lights and high ceilings with exposed wooden beams that give the room both elegance and charm. If you’re looking for a large, open winery event space near Washington, DC, this is the space you want.
The Loft
Capacity: 120 guests
Given the loft’s second floor perch, it offers even more spectacular and panoramic views of the Blue Ridge Mountains from the room’s numerous windows. On top of that, the space features a large marble fireplace which draws the eye and is sure to be one of the more popular places your guests will gravitate toward.
In addition to that, the room is graced by gorgeous chandeliers and is highly customizable, allowing you to tweak it to be a perfect fit for just about any type of party you have in mind. If you’re planning a positively huge event and want to make sure you’ve got plenty of room, we recommend booking both this space and our Celebrations Room.
The Barrel Room
Capacity: 120 guests
Are you interested in something with more of a rustic feel? If so, then our Barrel Room belongs on your shortlist of options to consider. The centerpiece of the room is, of course, the rows of French and American barrels where our wines sit aging gracefully, but the room offers a number of other stand-out features as well, including gorgeous chandeliers and hand carved stonework embroidering the walls.
You’ll feel like you’ve entered a medieval castle when you step into this space. Depending on the type of event you’re planning and the aesthetic you’re going for, this might not be a good fit for you, but for the right person, it could be absolutely perfect.
The Cave
Capacity: 40 guests
The cave is our smallest venue space and far and away our most rustic. It is a room that seems to exist in another place and time, adorned with hand laid stonework, farm tables, a small collection of wine barrels and candle-draped chandeliers.
It’s a magical space and ideal for small, intimate parties. As with the Barrel Room, if you’re not interested in a rustic setting for your event, this probably isn’t the space you’re looking for, but for the right person, it provides a one of a kind experience that won’t soon be forgotten. A delightful blend composed of 67% Chardonnay, 22% Sauvignon Blanc, 6% Pinot Gris, and 5% Viognier, it will please your palate with its variety of citrus and orchard fruit flavors.
2014 Chardonnay

This wine has a medium body and presents notes of orchard fruit with aromas of butterscotch and French oak.
