Come Taste Our Virginia Rose Wine

Are you a fan of Virginia Rose wine?  If you’re not sure whether you are or not, there’s one sure way to find out.  Join us for a wine tasting at Blue Valley! It’s the perfect day trip any time of year.  Just gather up a few of your best friends or family members and come make a day of it.

No matter when you come, there’s plenty to see.  The scenery is fantastic since the winery is nestled in the Blue Ridge Mountains which offer fabulous vistas in every direction and the grounds themselves are gloriously and meticulously maintained.

Blue Valley is one of only a handful of family owned wineries in the state of Virginia and in the more than two decades we’ve been producing fine wines, our vintages have won thousands of awards with more being collected each year.  To give you an idea of what you have to look forward to, here are some brief descriptions of the Virginia Rose wines we have on offer:

The 2018 Estate Rose

A complex rose gold wine with aromas of white pepper, pomegranate, watermelon and rind, this vintage won silver medals at both the San Francisco Wine Competition and the INDY International Wine Competition.

The 2018 Estate Chambourcin Rose

This wine is a true gem, featuring flavors of candied fruit with the aromas of wet bluestone, red cherry and pomegranate suffusing it.  It was a silver medal winner at the INDY International Wine Competition and brought home a bronze from the American Wine Society. The rich, bright flavor is sure to delight.

If you decide that Virginia Rose wine isn’t your favorite, not to worry, we’ve got plenty of other vintages to choose from.  Here’s a brief overview of some of the other vintages we have on offer:

Red Wines

2015 Remembrance

Made with estate-grown Chambourcin and combined with Vidal Blanc, this unique blend opens with flavors of raspberry, blueberry and a hint of oak.

2016 Sangiovese

This medium bodied red was a gold medal winner at the Finger Lakes International Wine Competition and won the Best Red in the Fauquier Wine Competition.  It’s fresh and fruity with notes of plum, black cherry, raspberries and violet, and has a slight earthy aftertaste. Don’t miss this one!

2016 Traditional Red Blend

Our 2016 Traditional Red Blend is 85% Merlot, and 15% Estate Cabernet Franc.  It was a silver medal winner in the INDY International Wine Competition and features a bold red and black cheery flavor with complimentary notes of smooth oak and black pepper.

White Wines

2014 Heritage

This glorious vintage is a blend of 67% Chardonnay, 22% Sauvignon Banc, 6% Pino Gris, and 5% Viognier.  It earned a gold medal at the INDY International Wine Competition and a silver medal at the American Wine Society, among others.  Aged nine months, it features nuanced notes of French oak, orchard fruits and citrus.

The 2018 Estate Viognier

One of our more complex vintages, this one is also 100% estate grown and of medium intensity.  The aroma is a wonderful mix of honeysuckle and rose petals with hints of mango. It won a silver medal in the Finger Lakes Wind Competition, and one taste will leave you wanting more.
