Enjoy An Afternoon Getaway to a Virginia Winery

Are you looking for a fun, relaxing way to spend an afternoon?  Our state certainly has no shortage of possibilities, but have you considering spending the day at an award-winning Virginia winery?  If you’ve never done so, may we recommend Blue Valley?

Ours is one of only a handful of family-owned and operated wineries in Virginia.  More than twenty years ago, we purchased a large swath of the John Marshall estate and since that time we’ve slowly turned it into the thriving enterprise, it is today.

Our Virginia winery has won many awards since we began our journey, and if you’d like to sample the delicious wines we create, we host year-round wine tastings right here on our property.  We also regularly host area musicians who provide live music for our guests so if you’d like to enjoy some great music with your wine, be sure to check out our event calendar and plan your day accordingly.  Here’s the schedule of our hours of operation:

Although we are open during most holidays, although we are closed on both Christmas and New Year’s Day.

If you’re interested in learning more about our winemaking process, we also offer tours of our expansive production facility, including some of the venue spaces we make available for corporate retreats, social gatherings, weddings and the like.  Among other things, we’ll introduce you to The Cave and the Barrel Room.

As its name suggests, The Barrel Room is one of the places we keep our American and French oak barrels to properly age our wine.  The room is also graced with hand-carved stone embroidery and can accommodate up to 120 guests, so if you’re planning to have a social event of any kind, and you’re looking for a delightfully thematic room, this is a great option to consider.

The Cave is even more thematic than the Barrel Room if you can believe that.  It’s a much smaller space, adorned with candle-draped chandeliers and farm tables, and contains a small number of wine barrels as well, and provides a secluded, intimate setting for family and friends to gather in, with a decidedly Medieval feel.

You’ll get to see both of these when you tour our Virginia winery, and several of our other venue spaces besides, so if you’re planning an event in the near future, keep them in the back of your mind; we’d love to host you!

If you have any questions prior to coming out to spend the day with us, please feel free to call.  We look forward to speaking with you.
