Do you consider yourself something of a wine connoisseur? If so, and you’re looking for something new, may we suggest joining us at Blue Valley for a wine tasting? Our family has been in the winemaking business for three generations and our Northern Virginia wines are among the best you’ll find anywhere.
Since we first opened the winery more than two decades ago, our wines have won more than twenty- four thousand awards. We’d love it if you’d consider spending the day with us, sampling what we have to offer. Here are just a few examples:
2016 Estate Sauvignon Blanc
This sparkling white wine scored 93 points at the San Francisco International Wine Competition and was a Silver Medal Winner. It also scored 89 points in the Atlantic Seaboard Wine Competition, where it also won a Wine Enthusiast Silver Medal.
It’s 100% estate grown, and has superb balance and aromatics, with hints of melon and green apple, making it a pure delight.
The 2018 Estate Viognier
One of our more complex white wines, this one is also 100% estate grown and of medium intensity. The aroma is a wonderful mix of honeysuckle and rose petals with hints of mango. It won a silver medal in the Finger Lakes Wind Competition, and one taste will leave you wanting more.
This medium bodied red was a gold medal winner at the Finger Lakes International Wine Competition and won the Best Red in the Fauquier Wine Competition. It’s fresh and fruity with notes of plum, black cherry, raspberries and violet, and has a slight earthy aftertaste. Not to be missed.
2015 Celebration Red Blend
2015 was a great year indeed, and our Celebration Red provides the proof. This blend is 60.1% Merlot, 35% Cab Franc, and 4.9% Petit Verdot. It earned a gold medal from the American Wine Society and a silver from the New York Wine and Spirits Competition. It’s a bright ruby red with crisp acidity and features black and red berries, with complimentary notes of violet and plum. One of our most popular Northern Virginia red wines.
If you’d like to add a tour of our production facilities to your visit so you can get a behind the scenes look at how we do what we do, we’d be happy to accommodate, and if you’d like some musical accompaniment while sampling our fine Northern Virginia wines, you should know that we regular host area musicians, so be sure to check our event calendar before scheduling your trip out to see us.
