Are you planning a fun outing with family and friends, but struggling to come up with ideas for what to do? If you’re looking for something a bit unexpected and out of the ordinary, may we recommend Blue Valley? We’re a delightful, family-owned Northern Virginia winery; one of just a handful of family-run operations in the state, and if you’ve never been to a wine tasting before, you’re in for a real treat!
The Blue Valley is steeped in history. The winery was built on a part of a much larger estate that was once owned by the fourth Supreme Court Justice, John Marshall. In addition to being a land rich in history, it also offers simply breathtaking views of the Blue Ridge mountains. All that and great wine too? What’s not to like?
But it gets even better. As Northern Virginia’s premier independent winery, we often play host to local and regional musicians, so if you’d like some good music to accompany your wine, be sure to check our event calendar before planning your trip.
To help you with scheduling, here’s a copy of our hours of operation. Note that we are open most holidays, but not all. We’re closed on Christmas and New Year’s Day. Our hours of operation vary slightly between peak season and the winter season, and are as follows:
Peak Season Hours of Operation (April through November)
Monday through Thursday: 11:00 AM to 6:00 PM
Friday through Sunday: 11:00 AM to 7:00 PM
Winter Season Hours of Operation (December through March)
Monday through Thursday: 11:00 AM to 5:00 PM
Friday through Sunday: 11:00 AM to 6:00 PM
In addition to award-winning wines, delicious food, and regularly offered music, we also host tours of our production facility and event spaces. If you think you might be planning a party, corporate retreat, wedding or other social gathering, coming in for a wine tasting is a great way to get a firsthand look at the event spaces we have available.
We offer something for everyone and our spaces range from the vast Celebrations Room which offers all the amenities, to smaller, more intimate settings like our Barrel Room or The Cave. Over the years, all three have been used for weddings, Christmas parties, team-building corporate retreats, and for a whole host of other purposes.
Blue Valley is a labor of love, and we pride ourselves on treating all our guests like family. We’d love to have you come spend the day with us, and if you have any questions before planning your trip to see us, feel free to give us a call. We’re excited to spend time with you and hope to see you soon!
