Premier Virginia Outdoor Wedding Venue in the Shenandoah Valley

If you’re like many people, you’ve probably spent years planning your perfect wedding.  Depending on when you started, you may have begun with a scrapbook where you kept pictures and cutouts of all your ideas so you’d have them all in one place.  Later on, you may have created a Pinterest account and created an album that quickly grew to massive size.  If so, you’re certainly not alone – it’s a big day and a special event.  There’s certainly a lot to think about.

One of the first questions many people wrestle with is finding the right venue.  Location is everything and of course, everyone’s tastes and preferences are different.  Do you picture a classic, elegant wedding in a church, or do you want something more rustic?  Perhaps an outdoor wedding?

That’s a great choice and if you have settled on a location yet, may we suggest Blue Valley as the ideal Virginia outdoor wedding venue.  Our winery is one of only a handful of family-owned and operated wineries in the state of Virginia.

More than twenty years ago, we purchased a significant portion of a larger estate that was once owned by the fourth Chief Justice of the US Supreme Court.  In the years since we acquired the property, we’ve worked hard to transform it into the winery it is today, bringing our three generations of winemaking experience to the Shenandoah Valley.

Today, Blue Valley is a lush, green, thriving operation on land that’s steeped in history, and our commitment to excellence has resulted in our wines winning many awards to date!  The picture-perfect setting makes for an ideal Virginia outdoor wedding venue, but don’t take our word for it.  The best way to get a feel for what we have to offer is to come join us for an afternoon.

Have you ever been to a good, old fashioned wine tasting?  If not, we invite you and your friends to join us.  In fact, we regularly play host to area musicians so if you’d like to enjoy some music while you’re sampling our wine selection, be sure to check out our event calendar and plan your trip accordingly.  Here’s a copy of our hours of operation:

Although we are open during most holidays, we are closed on both Christmas and New Year’s Day.

Even if you want to exchange vows outside, odds are that you’ll want an indoor reception.  If you do, we offer a variety of indoor spaces that are perfect to our Virginia outdoor wedding venue.  Below, we’ll provide descriptions to some of the rooms we have available:

The Celebration Room

Normally, we use this as our main tasting room, but we’re proud to make it available to brides to be who are looking for a big, expansive indoor space capable of accommodating a large number of guests.  With a capacity of more than 200, this room is a great choice.

It features not one, but two different bars that have been hand-crafted from 200-year-old oak that was sourced from right here on our property.  In addition to that, you’ll find bistro lights, high ceilings with exposed wooden beams, a cozy fireplace and three large flat-screen TVs if you want to show memorable videos to your guests as sort of a ‘Pre-Wedding Greatest Hits.’

Best of all, the room’s numerous large windows offer a simply unbelievable view of the Blue Ridge Mountains, providing the perfect storybook backdrop for your special day.

The Loft

Sitting on the second floor, this room offers two very different views.  On one side, you can look down into the Celebration Room we described above, and on the others, gazing out the row of large windows, you’ll be treated to a spectacular view of the Blue Ridge Mountains.

It’s also graced with chandeliers that are both unique and beautiful and has a gorgeous marble fireplace that gives the room a character all its own.  With a capacity of 120, it’s the perfect fit for most wedding parties, although if you’re planning for an exceptionally large number of guests, you may want to consider booking the Loft in conjunction with the Celebration Room.

The Traditions Room

With its high ceilings, private bar, custom picture wall, and direct access to our spacious veranda which overlooks our skyline of the Blue Ridge Mountains, the Traditions room is a great choice for an indoor/outdoor reception, which makes it a great compliment to your Virginia outdoor wedding venue.

On the other side, guests get a picture-perfect view of our vineyard and occasionally, our animals, and it’s big enough to accommodate up to 80 guests, which makes it an excellent choice for smaller or medium-sized wedding parties.

If you’re looking for something smaller and more intimate than any of these, we offer two other rooms that might be of interest to you, especially if you want to take the rustic theme to the next level.  Both our Barrel Room and our Cave are excellent choices, with the Cave being an absolutely stunning space that will make you feel as though you’ve stepped back in time from the moment you walk into it.

Please give us a call if you have any questions about our winery in general or any of the venues we offer.
