Rustic Northern Virginia Weddings at Blue Valley Vineyard and Winery

How long have you been planning your wedding?  If you’re like many people, it’s something you started doing early on.  Across the country, millions of little girls dream of the perfect, storybook wedding and often start scrap books to capture everything down to the smallest detail.  Then later, as time and technology advanced, perhaps you retired the scrap book in preference for Pinterest or some other type of social media account. Before long, it was bursting at the seams with all sorts of fabulous ideas.

If you’ve always been a fan of rustic Northern Virginia weddings, you’re certainly not alone, and in that case, the right setting makes all the difference.  If you’re struggling to find just the right place, may we recommend Blue Valley?

Ours is one of the few family owned wineries in the state.  Nestled in the Blue Ridge Mountains, the land we built our winery on was once part of an estate belonging to the fourth Chief Justice of the Supreme Court, John Marshall.  The area not only provides innumerable sweeping, majestic views, but is also steeped in history, making it a picture-perfect setting for your special day.

Of course, there’s more to rustic Northern Virginia weddings than a picturesque setting.  The right location also has to have well-appointed venue spaces that are big enough to accommodate however many guests you plan on having.

Not to worry, we’ve got you covered on that front too.  We’ve lovingly crafted a variety of venue spaces that have, in the more than two decades we’ve been in business, played host to dozens of unforgettable rustic Northern Virginia weddings.  Here’s a quick overview of just a few of the spaces we make available:

The Heritage Room

This is an amazing, versatile space.  It offers a sweeping view of our winery on one side, breathtaking views of the Blue Ridge Mountains on the other, high ceilings with skylights and beautiful chandeliers overhead and a big, cozy stone fireplace that lends the room a decidedly rustic feel.

In addition to that, the Heritage room has direct access to our Sunset Terrace, giving you the option to move things outdoors if the weather permits and the mood strikes.  This space can accommodate up to sixty guests, so if you’re planning a large wedding, it may not be enough space, but for small to medium-sized events, it’s absolutely perfect.

The Barrel Room

The Barrel Room is a wonderfully rustic option capable of accommodating up to 120 guests.  Merely stepping into it will transport you to another age. The centerpiece is, of course, the rows of American and French barrels that grace the room, and the overall aesthetic is enhanced by hand-cut stonework on the walls, made all the more remarkable by the fact that all the stone was taken from the property itself.  Over the years, a great many rustic Northern Virginia weddings have been hosted here.

The Cave

One of our most unique venue spaces, The Cave is one part time machine and one-part magical, unforgettable event space.  It’s our smallest room, only capable of accommodating up to 40 guests, so this one won’t be for everyone, but if you want a themed wedding and are looking for a space that will make you and your guests feel as though you’ve been transported back to Medieval times, this room belongs on your short list for consideration.

It offers a gorgeous blending of farm tables, candle-draped chandeliers and wine barrels that combine with the hand laid stonework to create an unbelievably beautiful and interesting aesthetic.

The Traditions Room

With a private bar, high ceilings and access to our spacious veranda, this venue is a fantastic option for people who want to give their guests the option of taking the fun either indoors or out, weather permitting.  The room features a large number of windows which gives it a bright, airy feel while providing picturesque views of the vineyard itself. It’s large enough to accommodate up to 80 guests.

We offer other spaces besides these, and in addition to the venues themselves, we also have a sumptuously appointed Bridal Suite that many of our brides to be rent in addition to the venue space of their choice.  It offers a safe haven for brides to retreat and get away from the chaos of the last-minute preparations.

Of course, as valuable as these descriptions are, there’s no substitute for seeing each space in person.  If you’d like to do that, why bring several friends and join us for a wine tasting and tour?

  • Friday through Sunday:  11:00 AM to 7:00 PM.

  • Monday through Thursday:  11:00 AM to 5:00 PM
  • Friday through Sunday:  11:00 AM to 6:00 PM.

Although we are open during most holidays, please note that we are closed on both Christmas and New Year’s Day.

Even better, if you’d like musical accompaniment while you’re here, we host local musicians on a regular basis, so be sure to check our event calendar before planning your trip.

Again, over the years, we’ve hosted a number of memorable rustic Northern Virginia weddings, and we’d love to host yours next.  If you have any questions prior to scheduling your trip, don’t hesitate to give us a call.
