Rustic Virginia weddings are incredibly popular, but in order to pull it off well, location is everything. If you know you want something rustic for your special day, but you’re struggling to find the perfect venue, may we suggest Blue Valley?
Haven’t heard of us? We’re one of the few family-owned vineyards in the state of Virginia. In addition to producing a full line of award-winning wine, we also offer both indoor and outdoor spaces for corporate retreats, parties, and of course, rustic Virginia weddings.
Nestled in the Blue Ridge Mountains, Blue Valley offers simply gorgeous vistas that would serve as the ideal backdrop for your special day. Our vineyard is built on part of what was once the John Marshall estate, the fourth Chief Justice of the US Supreme Court, so the region is steeped in history.
Of course, you’ll probably want some indoor venue space for the reception, and if so, then we’ve got a lot to choose from. If rustic is what you’re after though, you’re probably going to be most interested in either our Barrel Room or The Cave. We’ll provide a few details of those next:
The Barrel Room
With a capacity of 120, this room transports you to another age. Entering the space, you’ll feel as though you’ve just stepped into a medieval castle.
The walls are embroidered with hand-cut stone taken from right here on the property and the barrels are arranged in tiers. You’ll find rows and rows of American and French oak barrels which are quietly aging our Blue Valley wine as you’re entertaining guests among them. It’s an unforgettable room that can play an important role in making your special day even more unforgettable.
The Cave
If you’re looking for something smaller and more intimate, then The Cave deserves your attention. Every bit of the stonework that makes up this room was hand laid. It’s decorated with a mix of farm tables, wine barrels, and candle-draped chandeliers which combine to give the space an ancient feel that with the smallest of nudges could be transformed into a dramatic fantasy aesthetic. This space is unlike anything you’ve ever experienced and for the right couple, would be an ideal wedding or reception space.
Over the years, we’ve hosted a number of rustic Virginia weddings, but the best way to decide for yourself if this is the perfect location for you is to come pay us a visit in person.
