Our Best Virginia Red Wines

2015 Celebration Red Blend

2015 was a superb year at Blue Valley, and the proof lies in this vintage.  It is a blend containing 60.1% Merlot, 35% Cab Franc, and 4.9% Petit Verdot.  The 2015 Celebration Red Blend earned a gold medal from the American Wine Society and a silver from the New York Wine and Spirits Competition.  It’s a bright ruby red with crisp acidity and features black and red berries, with complimentary notes of violet and plum. One of our most popular.  You’re sure to love it.

2015 Remembrance

Made with estate-grown Chambourcin and combined with Vidal Blanc, this unique blend opens with flavors of raspberry, blueberry and a hint of oak.

2016 Sangiovese

This medium bodied red was a gold medal winner at the Finger Lakes International Wine Competition and won the Best Red in the Fauquier Wine Competition.  It’s fresh and fruity with notes of plum, black cherry, raspberries and violet, and has a slight earthy aftertaste. Don’t miss this one!

2016 Traditional Red Blend

Our 2016 Traditional Red Blend is 85% Merlot, and 15% Estate Cabernet Franc.  It was a silver medal winner in the INDY International Wine Competition and features a bold red and black cheery flavor with complimentary notes of smooth oak and black pepper.

Our Best Virginia White Wines

2014 Chardonnay

This silver medal winner at the San Francisco International Wine Competition is a medium-plus body wine that presents hints of French oak and butterscotch mingled with and complimented by notes of orchard fruit.  It is smooth, sparkling and delightful.

2014 Heritage

This glorious vintage is a blend of 67% Chardonnay, 22% Sauvignon Banc, 6% Pino Gris, and 5% Viognier.  It earned a gold medal at the INDY International Wine Competition and a silver medal at the American Wine Society, among others.  Aged nine months, it features nuanced notes of French oak, orchard fruits and citrus.

2016 Estate Sauvignon Blanc

This offering scored 93 points at the San Francisco International Wine Competition and was a Silver Medal Winner.  It also scored 89 points in the Atlantic Seaboard Wine Competition, where it also won a Wine Enthusiast Silver Medal.  It’s 100% estate grown, and has superb balance and aromatics, with hints of melon and green apple, making it a pure delight.

The 2018 Estate Viognier

One of our more complex vintages, this one is also 100% estate grown and of medium intensity.  The aroma is a wonderful mix of honeysuckle and rose petals with hints of mango. It won a silver medal in the Finger Lakes Wind Competition, and one taste will leave you wanting more.

Our Best Virginia Rose Wines

This wine is a true gem, featuring flavors of candied fruit with the aromas of wet bluestone, red cherry and pomegranate suffusing it.  It was a silver medal winner at the INDY International Wine Competition and brought home a bronze from the American Wine Society. The rich, bright flavor is sure to delight.

The 2018 Estate Rose

As we said, while these descriptions have value, they are no substitute for sampling them directly but we did want to give you a preview of what you can expect when you come for a wine tasting!

As a winery, our offered vintages naturally take center stage, but there’s more to do here than just that.  If you’d like to get a behind the scenes look at how we do what we do, we offer tours of our expansive, state of the art production facility for a modest additional fee.

In addition to that, if you’re planning a wedding, reception, holiday gala, corporate retreat or other gathering and you’re tired of the same old, hum drum hotel convention center, be sure to check out the variety of venue spaces we have available.

We’ve carefully cultivated a total of six venue spaces and a Bridal Suite, each of them with a unique look and feel.

Whether your tastes run to the more modern, traditional or rustic, you’re sure to find something here you’ll love.  Our venue spaces are of varying sizes, with the smallest of the lot accommodating just forty guests, making it perfect for intimate gatherings, and our largest capable of accommodating more than two hundred.

If you’re planning an even larger gathering than that, it may be possible to book more than one space, and in fact, for very large parties, our Celebrations room is also booked in conjunction with The Loft, which overlooks it.  While you’re here, you’ll have the opportunity to walk each space and get a feel for it, which will get your mind turning about the possibilities and each space’s potential suitability for whatever sort of gathering you might be planning.

There’s something magical about this part of the country that extends far beyond its natural beauty.  Blue Valley has been a labor of love for us and we can’t envision our winery being anywhere else.

The Blue Ridge Mountains have a long, rich history and this particular area even more so, as the land our winery sits on was once a part of an estate belonging to John Marshal, who served as the fourth Chief Justice of the United States Supreme Court.  If you’re a history lover, that’s one more reason to consider spending the day with us!

Best of all though, there’s something new to see, experience and explore every season.  The tapestry that the mountains provide is ever changing and provides a simply unforgettable backdrop, whether you’re just planning to come up for an afternoon, or you’re planning a celebration you hope to be utterly unforgettable.

The only thing missing then, is you.  Call your friends or members of your family.  Head this way and spend a day with us that’s sure to be talked about for years to come.  We’re open most holidays, but please note that we are closed on Christmas and New Year’s Day.

If you have any questions prior to scheduling your trip to see us, please don’t hesitate to call.  We can’t wait to see you!
