Is planning the perfect wedding day getting you down? If you’re like many people, you’ve got most of the details in order, but one of the hardest things to nail down is the perfect location, and let’s face it, without that, no matter how amazing the other aspects of your coming wedding are, the wrong location will just throw everything out of kilter.
We completely understand, and if you’ve been struggling, may we recommend a wedding at our winery? Blue Valley offers some of the best Virginia wedding venues you’ll find anywhere. Ours is one of the few family-owned and operated wineries in the state, and over the years, we’ve played host to scores of enchanting weddings and a variety of other unforgettable social events.
We built the winery more than twenty years ago when we purchased a portion of an estate owned by John Marshall, who was the fourth Chief Justice of the Supreme Court. Nestled in the Blue Ridge Mountains, Blue Valley offers a setting like none other and the views are simply exquisite.
Unfortunately, spectacular views alone aren’t enough, which is why we’ve also carefully cultivated a number of event spaces which have we’re happy to make available. Below, we’ll introduce you to a few of them:
The Celebrations Room
When this room isn’t booked for other purposes, it serves as our main wine tasting room. It’s the largest space we offer, capable of accommodating more than 200 guests and is one of our best and highly sought-after Virginia wedding venues.
It boasts two different bars, both hand-crafted from two-hundred-year-old oak harvested from the estate itself, and then hand-carved into their finished forms. The two bars are complimented by Bistro lights, high ceilings with exposed wooden beams and a cozy fireplace.
The room also offers a trio of large flat-screen TVs in case you want to show your guests a memorable video or two of you and your intended, and in addition to that, its large windows offer stunning views of the Blue Ridge Mountains. This is a fantastic option for large wedding parties, and if you need even more space, we recommend also booking The Loft, which we’ll describe next.
The Loft
The Loft provides a great view of the Celebration Room which sits below it on one side, and a panoramic view of the Blue Ridge Mountains on the other. It features unique and beautiful chandeliers and a stunning marble fireplace that must be seen to be fully appreciated. Capable of accommodating up to 120 guests, it’s perfect for all but the largest weddings.
The Barrel Room
The Barrel Room is a delightfully rustic space that’s capable of accommodating up to 120 guests. The room transports you to another age when you step into it. The centerpiece is, of course, the rows of American and French barrels that grace the room, and the overall aesthetic is enhanced by hand-cut stonework on the walls, made all the more remarkable by the fact that all the stone was taken from the property itself.
This room won’t be for everyone, but when you see it, if it sparks something in your imagination, it’s an excellent option with vast potential and one of the best Virginia wedding venues for those looking for something with a rustic feel.
The Cave
One of our most unique venues, The Cave is one part-time machine and one-part magical, unforgettable event space. It’s our smallest room, only capable of accommodating up to 40 guests, so like the Barrel Room, this one won’t be for everyone, but if you want a themed wedding and are looking for a space that will make you and your guests feel as though you’ve been transported back to Medieval times, this room belongs on your shortlist for consideration.
It offers a gorgeous blending of farm tables, candle-draped chandeliers and wine barrels that combine with the hand-laid stonework to create an unbelievably beautiful and interesting aesthetic. This is also one of the rooms we’ll take you through on our tour of the facility, so if you’d like to get a firsthand look, that can easily be arranged!
We’ve got other venues besides these, and to cap it all off, we also offer a sumptuously appointed Bridal Suite so harried brides to be will have a space they can retreat to if the preparations swirling around them prove to be a little overwhelming.
Taken together, Blue Valley offers some of the best Virginia wedding venues you’ll find anywhere, but don’t take our word for it. Although the descriptions above are helpful, the best way to truly get a feel for the spaces we have available is to come spend the day with us and see for yourself.
