Winery weddings near Washington D.C. have become increasingly popular in recent years, and if it’s something you’ve been considering yourself, may we recommend Blue Valley?  We’re one of just a handful of family-owned and operated wineries in the state of Virginia, and in the years since we first brought our labor of love to life, we’ve hosted scores of spectacular weddings.

We created the vineyard on a portion of a larger estate that once belonged to John Marshall, the fourth Chief Justice of the Supreme Court.  Not only does the area offer some of the most gorgeous views you’ll find anywhere, it’s also steeped in history, making it a simply unforgettable backdrop for your big day.

Location, of course, is only part of what makes Blue Valley special.  Scenic views and stunning vistas are important, but if the location doesn’t have state-of-the-art facilities to pair with the views, it’s going to fall well short of meeting your needs.  That’s why we’ve worked hard to develop a number of unique venue spaces of varying sizes to meet almost any preference.  Here’s a quick overview:

The Heritage Room

This delightful space has something for everyone.  The windows on one side offer a spectacular view of our winery, while the windows on the other treat you to an unparalleled view of the majestic Blue Ridge Mountains.  In addition to that, you’ll find high ceilings with skylights and beautiful chandeliers overhead and a big, cozy stone fireplace to relax beside.

This room also offers access to the Sunset Terrace, giving you the option to move things outdoors if the weather permits and the mood strikes.  With a maximum capacity of up to sixty guests, it’s a great choice for small to medium-sized weddings, but if you’re planning something larger, you’ll be more interested in one of our more expansive venues.


This beautiful room has high ceilings, a private bar and it provides direct access to our spacious veranda which makes it an ideal choice for people who want the option of being both indoors and out at various points during your Big Day.

There are a vast number of large windows in the room which gives it a bright, airy feel while simultaneously providing exquisite views of the vineyard itself and the occasional animal that may wander by.  With a capacity of 80 guests, it may be just what you’re looking for.  Over the years, a number of Winery weddings near Washington D.C. have been hosted here.

The Celebration Room

This vast space serves as our main wine tasting room.  It’s got enough space to accommodate more than two hundred guests, making it well-suited for large weddings.  It features not one, but two different bars that have been hand-crafted from 200-year-old oak that was sourced from right here on our property.

In addition to that, you’ll find bistro lights, high ceilings with exposed wooden beams, a cozy fireplace and three large flat-screen TVs making it easy to share memorable videos of you and yours intended as part of the festivities.

Best of all, the room’s numerous large windows offer a simply unbelievable view of the Blue Ridge Mountains, providing the perfect storybook backdrop for your special day.  Some of the most spectacular and memorable winery weddings near Washington D.C. have been hosted right here!

The Loft

Sitting perched such that it overlooks the Celebration Room, the Loft is another splendid venue option that features an even more spectacular view of the Blue Ridge Mountains on one side, while offering a few down into the Celebration room on the other.

It’s also graced with chandeliers that are both unique and beautiful and has a gorgeous marble fireplace that gives the room a character all its own.  With a capacity of 120, it’s the perfect size for most weddings, but if you have an exceptionally large reception planned, you may want to consider booking both the Celebration Room and the Loft.

The Barrel Room

If you’re looking for something a little more rustic, our famous Barrel Room belongs on your shortlist of possible venues to consider.  Capable of accommodating up to 120 guests, this room transports you to another age.  Entering the space, you’ll feel as though you’ve just stepped into a medieval castle.

The walls are embroidered with hand-cut stone taken from right here on the property and the barrels are arranged in tiers.  You’ll find rows and rows of American and French oak barrels which are quietly aging our Blue Valley wine as you’re entertaining guests among them.  It’s an unforgettable room that can play an important role in making your special day even more unforgettable.

The Cave

Looking for something even smaller and more intimate?  If so, and if you have a particular theme in mind for your wedding, then The Cave deserves your attention.  Every bit of the stonework that makes up this room was hand laid.  It’s decorated with a mix of farm tables, wine barrels, and candle-draped chandeliers which combine to give the space an ancient feel that with the smallest of nudges could be transformed into a dramatic fantasy aesthetic.  This space is unlike anything you’ve ever experienced and for the right couple, would be an ideal wedding or reception space.

The Bridal Suite

Weddings, for all their joy and promise, are also hectic, chaos-filled days.  Brides-to-be need a space to escape from the chaos so they can escape from the chaos when and as needed.  That’s exactly why we offer a separate Bridal Suite.

Spacious and comfortable, you can relax with a glass of wine and gaze out at the Blue Ridge Mountains to help calm your mind and center yourself in preparation for your future.  No matter which of the venues you choose, this is an excellent compliment.
