Think Outside the Hotel – Unique Event Space Near Washington DC

Are you planning a big event or party, either for yourself, family and friends or the company you work for?  Have the options you’ve explored thus far left you wanting? Are you decidedly underwhelmed by the hotel convention center scene?

If you answered yes to any of those questions are find yourself looking for something that’s both slightly off the beaten path and much more interesting, we’d like to recommend our winery as a possibility.  Since we opened our doors more than twenty years ago, we’ve quietly become one of the most popular destinations for those seeking event space near Washington DC.

There are several reasons for that.  Blue Valley is nestled in the majestic Blue Ridge Mountains and offers unparalleled views and a setting that simply can’t be beaten, whatever sort of event you’re planning.  The area is steeped in rich history too, as the winery was built on part of a larger estate that once belonged to John Marshall, the fourth Chief Justice of the US Supreme Court.

In addition to providing a breathtaking setting through, we’ve also carefully developed a number of fantastic event spaces near Washington DC that are flexible, versatile and well-suited to a variety of purposes.  If you have an event in mind that involve a rustic setting, we have two great options to choose from:

The Barrel Room

Capacity: 120 guests

This is the largest of our two rustic venues.  The centerpiece is, of course, the rows of French and American barrels where our wines sit aging gracefully, but the room offers a number of other stand-out features as well, including gorgeous chandeliers and hand carved stonework embroidering the walls.

You’ll feel like you’ve entered a medieval castle when you step into this space.  It’s not for everyone, but depending on the aesthetic you’re looking for where your event space near Washington DC is concerned, it could be absolutely perfect for you.

The Cave

Capacity: 40 guests

The cave is our smallest venue space and our most rustic.  It is a room that seems to exist in another place and time, adorned with hand laid stonework, farm tables, a small collection of wine barrels and candle-draped chandeliers.

It’s a magical space and ideal for small, intimate gatherings.  Again, if you’re not interested in hosting a rustic event, this probably isn’t the space you’re looking for, but for the right person, it could be absolutely perfect.

If you’re not looking for something rustic and you need more space, we’ve got two other fantastic options available:

The Celebrations Room

Capacity: 200+ guests

This vast, elegant space has a lot to offer and is the ideal choice if you find yourself in need of a very large event space near Washington DC.  Among other things, it boasts not one but two bars, both made from 200-year old oaks harvested right on the property, then hand-made by Yianni Zissios.

The room is filled with expansive glass windows that offer spectacular mountain views, and you’ll find three large flat screen TVs if you’d like to incorporate an audio or video presentation into whatever event you’re planning.  Then there’s the delightfully cozy fireplace, fun Bistro lights and high ceilings with exposed wooden beams that give the room both elegance and charm.

The Loft

Capacity: 120 guests

Given the loft’s second floor perch, it offers even more spectacular and panoramic views of the Blue Ridge Mountains from the room’s numerous windows.  In addition to that, the space sports a large marble fireplace which draws the eye and is sure to be one of the more popular places your event attendees will gravitate to.

In addition to that, you’ll find gorgeous chandeliers and a highly customizable space that can be tweaked to suit most any occasion.  If you have an unusually large event planned with vast numbers of attendees expected, we recommend booking both the Loft and the Celebrations Room together as the Loft overlooks the Celebrations room.

If you’re looking for something that exists somewhere between the large and expansive and our more rustic venue spaces, we’ve got two additional spaces available:  The Heritage and Traditions rooms.

The bottom line is, whatever your needs are where event spaces are concerned, we’ve got you covered, and the setting is absolutely unforgettable.  The best way to know for certain if one of these spaces is right for whatever event you’re planning though is to come spend the day with us and see for yourself!

Come on your own or grab a few of your closest friends and make a day of it.  Enjoy some of our delicious food and our fantastic selection of wines and explore the vineyard for yourself.

Although we are open during most holidays, please note that we are closed on Thanksgiving, Christmas, and New Year’s Day.  If you have any questions prior to scheduling your trip to come spend the day with us, don’t hesitate to give us a call.  We’re looking forward to speaking with and seeing you.
