Virginia Cabernet Franc

Cabernet Franc often doesn’t get the credit it deserves among wine enthusiasts.  As the parent grape of both Cabernet Sauvignon and Merlot, it results in a surprisingly complex red wine most often noted for its peppery flavor.

Our 2015 Virginia Cabernet Franc is a delightfully different take.  It’s a medium-bodied wine with notes of bright fed fruit, dark cherry and just a hint of cedar and spice.

It was well received, winning a Silver Medal at the Finger Lakes International Wine Competition, a Silver Medal at the New York Wine and Spirits Competition, a Silver Medal at the American Wine Competition and a Bronze Medal from the INDY International Wine Competition.

Of course, our Virginia Cabernet Franc is just one of many.  Since we first began producing, our wines have won more than twenty-four thousand awards.  If red wine isn’t your passion, may we recommend our 2014 Heritage?

It’s a nuanced white with notes of French oak, leading into orchard fruits and citrus.  Aged to perfection for nine months, it’s a delightful blend of 67% Chardonnay, 22% Sauvignon Blanc, 6% Pinot Gris, and 5% Viognier and was well received, winning the following awards:

  • Gold Medal – INDY International Wine Competition
  • Silver Medal – American Wine Society
  • Silver Medal – Finger Lakes International Wine Competition
  • And a Silver Medal at the San Francisco International Competition
