Virginia Corporate Retreat Venue off the Beaten Path

Most corporate event planners play it safe.  They tend to gravitate to the good ol’ hotel convention center.  Unfortunately, that gets old quickly and an unexciting venue choice often causes enthusiasm for participation in those events to wane quickly.

If you’re looking for an easy way to amp up enthusiasm for your next retreat, may we recommend considering one of our Virginia corporate retreat venues?  Hosting your event at a winery will certainly get the attention of your attendees, and Blue Valley is a location like no other.

Nestled in the majestic Blue Ridge Mountain, ours is one of only a handful of family run wineries in the state.  It’s just far enough off the beaten path to be memorable and unlike those stodgy old hotel convention centers, all of the venues we’ve cultivated offer simply unforgettable views and a setting that will leave your attendees talking about the retreat for years to come.

The area is also of historical significance since we created the winery out of a portion of an estate that was once owned by the fourth Chief Justice of the Supreme Court, John Marshall.

Of course, the fabulous views and the lore surrounding the area will only take you so far.  The facilities themselves have to be up to the task of supporting whatever sort of event you have in mind.  Below, we’ll give you a brief overview of some of our Virginia corporate retreat venue spaces so you can decide for yourself.

The Celebrations Room

This space is our largest Virginia corporate retreat venue, capable of accommodating more than 200 attendees.  It also serves as our main tasting room when it’s not booked to fulfill other roles. It boasts two different bars, both hand-crafted from two-hundred-year-old oak harvested from the estate itself, and then hand crafted into the functional works of art you see on display in the room.

The two bars are complimented by Bistro lights, high ceilings with exposed wooden beams and a cozy fireplace.  The room also offers a trio of large flat screen TVs in case you want to incorporate an audio/video presentation as part of your event.  In addition to that, the room boasts a number of large windows that provide unforgettable views of the Blue Ridge Mountains.  

Best of all, if you need even more space, you can also book The Loft, which overlooks the Celebration Room.

The Loft

Sitting just above and overlooking the Celebration Room, the Loft is another exceptional venue choice that offers an even more spectacular view of the Blue Ridge Mountains on one side, while providing a view down into the Celebration room on the other.

It’s also graced with chandeliers that are both unique and beautiful and has a gorgeous marble fireplace that’s gives the room a character all its own.  With a capacity of 120, it’s the perfect fit for most corporate events, but if you’re expecting a large number of attendees, you may want to consider booking both the Celebration room and the Loft.

The Barrel Room

Looking for a Virginia corporate retreat venue with a different vibe?  The Barrel Room is a wonderfully rustic option capable of accommodating up to 120 guests.  Merely entering the space transports you to another age. The centerpiece is, of course, the rows of American and French barrels that grace the room, and the overall aesthetic is enhanced by hand-cut stonework on the walls, made all the more remarkable by the fact that all the stone was taken from the property itself.  

The Traditions Room

With a private bar, high ceilings and access to our spacious veranda, this venue is a fantastic option for people who want to give their attendees the option of stepping outside for a better view of the mountains, weather permitting.  The room features a large number of windows which gives it a bright, airy feel while providing picturesque views of the vineyard itself. It’s large enough to accommodate up to 80 attendees.

The Heritage Room

This is an incredibly versatile venue space that offers a sweeping view of our winery on one side, breathtaking views of the Blue Ridge Mountains on the other, high ceilings with skylights and beautiful chandeliers overhead and a big, cozy stone fireplace.

In addition to that, the room provides access to our Sunset Terrace, giving you the option to move things outdoors if the weather permits and the mood strikes.  This space can accommodate up to sixty attendees, so if you’re planning a larger corporate event, it may not be enough space, but for small to medium-sized gatherings, it’s absolutely perfect.

While these descriptions are helpful, words alone will only take you so far.  If you truly want to get a feel for each space, and see some of the others we offer, why not come out and spend the day with us?  You can tour our facility and enjoy a wine tasting while you’re here. If you’re planning to come during our peak season, which runs from April through November, our hours of operation are:

  • Monday through Thursday: 11:00 AM to 6:00 PM
  • Friday through Sunday:  11:00 AM to 7:00 PM.

If you’re planning to come during the winter season, which runs from December through March, our hours of operation are:

  • Monday through Thursday:  11:00 AM to 5:00 PM
  • Friday through Sunday:  11:00 AM to 6:00 PM.

Although we are open during most holidays, please note that we are closed on both Christmas and New Year’s Day.  If you have any questions prior to scheduling your trip, give us a call. We’ll be more than happy to answer them.
